MORE than £4,000 was raised by generous villagers and visitors to Peopleton Autumn Show.

Over 1,000 people attended the event - the first of its kind the in village for 20 years - which was in aid of St Nicholas Church.

As well as a classic car show, falconry displays, craft stalls and refreshments, visitors enjoyed live music from local bands and a traditional fruit and flower show.

Organiser, Steve Dexter, said: “Despite the windy weather, the recession and a host of other events going on in our local area, the show was a great success and made a handsome profit of £4,703.36.”

He added plans were already in place for an autumn show next year.
