VILLAGERS turned out in force to show their support for Bidford’s firefighters at their fire station open day.
Dozens of people attended the event at the Waterloo Road station on Saturday following news the station could be facing closure under proposals from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. As well as fun and games for children, there were displays from firefighters and young firefighters.
A petition has been started to save the station, along with six others earmarked for closure, at petitions.number10.gov.uk/SaveWFRS and has attracted nearly 700 signatures already.
A meeting has been organised at Crawford Memorial Hall on Wednesday, September 30, at 7.45pm to inform residents of the proposals.
