THE Countryside Alliance Foundation is hosting the fourth Young Countryside Day at Throckmorton Clay Shooting Club, near pershore, on Tuesday, October 27.

The day is an opportunity for youngsters aged 11 to 16 to enjoy the great outdoors and learn about the rural way of life.

Clare Rowson, spokesperson for the CAF, said: “We welcome this opportunity to promote and raise awareness of the enormous economic, social and environmental contribution that rural activities make to the countryside.

“The aim of the day is to offer the students the opportunity to experience countryside activities and enhance their appreciation of the countryside and its people.

“The countryside is for everyone. We all love it and we want to be able to help people understand the rural way of life.”

She said the day would go some way to educate the youngsters in subjects relating to the conservation, protection and enjoyment of the countryside.

A team of instructors will accompany the students, with at least one team leader per group.

Protective equipment will be provided where necessary.

Numbers are limited so advance booking only will secure a place.

A £10 donation is required to cover equipment costs.
