THOUSANDS of pounds worth of funding has been earmarked to help tenants and residents fight anti-social behaviour in Worcestershire.
Regional and housing minister, Ian Austin, announced today that £44,000 will be invested in informing residents of their rights, extra training for frontline staff and community-led schemes for young people.
The money, which is just some of a total £500,000 which has been allocated to the West Midlands, will also be used to enforce new measures to tackle anti-social behaviour affecting people living in social housing.
Mr Austin said: “I don’t see why the decent, law-abiding majority should have their lives made a misery by anti-social behaviour and swift action needs to be taken against the yobs and criminals who cause this.
“This found shows ordinary decent people tthat the Government is on their side and will crackdown on anti-social behaviour by supporting victims and making local partners take fast and effective action against it.
“I urge the police, local authorities, housing officers, social landlords and other frontline practitioners to use the range of measures available to them.”
