Find something to warm the heart in Number 8's winter season

A WIDE range of live entertainment, film, creative courses and exhibitions form Number 8’s winter programme beginning this month.

This side of Christmas comes Toad of Toad Hall, an adventure which is sure to entertain all the family with its delightful characters, pretty mood music and songs, fun, humour and a powerful sense of pure fantasy.

This will be performed by the Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society, hot on the heels of their hugely successful summer show The Boyfriend, from Monday to Saturday, December 7 - 12.

The Vienna Festival Ballet perform The Nutcracker and Tchaikovsky Gala Evenings from December 17 to 20, while one of cinema’s most anticipated animated releases, The Fantastic Mr Fox, shows from December 28 to 30.

After Christmas the highlights include live music from Paul Jones with Digby Fairweather’s Half Dozen, and Scottish supergroup Session A9.

Session A9 is comprised of some of the main players from the Scottish folk scene who will be playing at Number 8 on February 6.

There are theatrical performances from Rohan McCullough in The Tale of Beatrix Potter, on January 29, and amazing acrobatics with the So & So Circus Theatre, and set against the backdrop of the 1930s music hall, in its show The Hot Dots on February 13.

A fantastical morality, set in the present day, is presented in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (12A), director Terry Gilliam’s amazing adventure into the imagination and starring Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law and Heath Ledger in his final screen role.

This plays on Friday and Saturday, January 8 and 9.
