A GOOD Samaritan who stopped to help two men he thought had broken down in Drakes Broughton was punched and had his van stolen.
The robbery took place between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday (5) where two men looked as though they were having mechanical trouble with their red Peugeot car in a lay-by on the B4084 Brickyard Lane.
One of the men drove off in the silver Ford Transit van - registration NX57 SXL - and the other in the Peugeot. The victim did not require hospital treatment.
A police spokesman said: “While we don’t know how long the Peugeot had been in the lay-by, there may be people who passed by earlier who now remember something distinctive about the vehicle – and/or the men – such as the whole, or part, of the registration number. Other people may have seen both vehicles together later that night.”
Anyone with information is urged to call police on 03003 333000, quoting 400S/050110, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
