AN Evesham woman is preparing to plunge 10,000ft from a plane to raise money for a charity which supports women with endometriosis.

Abigail Smith, aged 17, from The Leys, recently discovered she had the condition which causes cells in the body to break down and bleed away in synchronisation with a woman’s hormonal changes.

But unlike a period, this internal bleeding has no way to leave the body and can lead to inflammation, pain and even infertility.

Abigail said: “I was quite gutted when I found out about all this.

“I had suffered two miscarriages before, but now knowing I have this condition has helped me find some closure with them.

“In my research on the subject I came across the charity Endometriosis UK and wanted to do something to help what I thought was a good cause.

“I’m looking forward to the jump, but I’m still a bit nervous. I don’t mind planes but I’m not sure about jumping out of them.

“My friends and family have been really supportive.”

Abigail’s jump is scheduled to take place from Brackley Airfield, near Oxford, on March 13. To add you support, go to http://www.justgiving.com/Abigail-Smith.
