THREE bright sparks from Pershore College have impressed their peers as each received an offer from either Oxford or Cambridge University.
Ben Carr, Hannah Redgewell and Robert Holman all attend the college’s sixth form.
Ben, 17, has had an offer from Downing College, Cambridge, to study engineering.
He is currently part of the successful Engineering Education Team which won its regional finals, and is preparing to compete in the national competition later this year.
Hannah, also 17, has had an offer from Trinity College, Cambridge, to study politics, psychology and sociology.
She is currently tacking an Extended Project Qualification on the political situation in Iran, with particular reference to the issue of nuclear armament.
Robert, aged 18, has had an offer from Oriel College, Oxford, to study Physics and is keen to progress on to a PhD in physics, with an eye to a career in research.
Their ambitious flair has won them praise from their peers at the school.
Head of sixth, Jason Howell, said: “We are particularly proud of these students who look set to study at two of the world’s leading universities.
”About 115 students in the sixth form have applied to university this year and the vast majority have already received offers.
“All these students should be congratulated, and they are now working hard to achieve the required grades.”
Headteacher, Clive Corbett, added: “Having known Ben, Robert and Hannah since they joined Pershore High School in 2004, it has been a joy to see them develop in every sense during this time.
“They are splendid young people who fully deserve this success.”
