PERSHORE staged their annual general meeting and annual dinner in the clubhouse at The Bottoms.

The club has had a reasonably successful season, the highlight of which was the first eleven winning the Wor-cestershire Sunday Lea-gue in its first season.

The Saturday side also finished a creditable fourth, just missing out on promotion.

The second eleven, in both competitions, had satisfactory seasons but suffered with player availability, a factor which will now no doubt improve with the teams feeling the benefit of a highly successful youth policy.

The youth section again went from stre-ngth to strength with teams reaching finals in several competitions.

Presentations of the annual awards were made to: First team player of the year, Lea Hawkes; second team player of the year, Richard Brereton; clubman of the year, Dave Price; young player of the year and most improved player of the year, Liam Ridings.

The club's officers were elected for the season 2001 as previously, chairman, Roger Wilks; secretary, Martin Johnson; treasurer, Stephen Cooper; fixture secretary, Mark Stevens; first team captain, Trevor Ridings; second team captain, Dave Wickersham.

John Brookes and Dave Price will look after the youth section.
