A YOUNG woman from Fladbury is planning to leap out of a plane in aid of St Richard’s Hospice during a tandem skydive next month.
Sarah Price, aged 22, will be joined by 20 other people for the event at Hinton Airfield in Oxfordshire on Saturday, August 7 when, along with the rest of the troupe, she will plunge 10,000ft towards the ground.
Sarah is undertaking the daunting dive because of the help the hospice has given her dad, Melvin, who suffers from MS and is permanently wheelchair bound.
She said: “My dad goes to St Richards and they have helped him so much over the years.
“I wanted to do something for them as a way to say thank you, plus I had always fancied doing a parachute jump.
“I’m not scared of heights, but I’m sure I will be when I get up there. I’m really looking forward to it and my dad is also glad I’m doing it, he thinks it’s really worth it.”
