Asparamancy

A ROYAL baby and the downfall of two UK political party leaders are among the predictions for 2011 by the world’s only asparamancer.

Jemima Packington, has also forecast a plunge in house prices beyond that expected by the financial sector, Oscars for the film The King’s Speech – but not necessarily for lead actor Colin Firth – and new financial troubles for America.

Miss Packington, who discovered her talent as a child, makes her predictions by throwing spears of asparagus – or sausages containing the vegetable when out of season – and analysing how they fall.

Last year was a successful one for the asparamancer, as her spears of destiny correctly pointed to royal engagements, an early exit for England at the South Africa World Cup, the downfall of Gordon Brown and a hung parliament.
