Coronation Street star opens new Poundland store

CORONATION Street Star Jack P Shepherd drew huge crowds in Evesham when he opened a new Poundland Store in the Riverside Centre.

The star, who plays bad-boy David Platt, posed for pictures and signed autographs after opening the store on December 3 to the delight of shoppers.

Adam Woodruff, store manager, said: “It was a fantastic day, everyone was having fun. It was a great way to welcome shoppers in Evesham to the new Poundland.”

The new store will create 30 new jobs and is one of more than 370 stores across the UK selling an array of products for £1.

David Coxon, Trading Director at Poundland said: “We are delighted to see that the shoppers of Evesham welcomed us into the community.

“Poundland offers amazing value on many household and branded products and we hope that local customers here will enjoy making us part of their weekly shop.”
