Clarkson will wield hammer at auction

JEREMY Clarkson will host an auction of promises in aid of Chipping Norton’s outdoor swimming pool.

The sale is being held on Friday, July 13, to raise funds for the town’s Lido.

The annual event, organised by Ken Norman, has raised more than £100,000 since it first started in 2004 and the Top Gear presenter is the regular auctioneer.

Items already up for auction include a clay shooting lesson for four, two tickets to any England home game before July 2013 and a full body massage with essential oils.

A statement on the Lido’s website said: “We are delighted that Jezza is returning for his eighth outing as auctioneer for The Lido.

“The journalist, author, broadcaster, Top Gear presenter and all round topbanana has been an active supporter of the Lido right from the word go.”

Tickets are £15 and on sale from Jaffé & Neale Bookshop & Café or from the Lido.

To offer items to the auction, e-mail Mr Norman at events@chippylido.co.uk.
