New lay minister
2:00pm Tuesday 3rd July 2012 in News
A NEW lay minister for Pershore has been appointed.
The Bishop of Dudley David Walker conducted a service at Worcester Cathedral, to admit seven people from across Worcestershire to the office.
Readers are trained and licensed lay ministers in the Church of England. They undergo a two-year training course before being admitted to the role.
Peter Stansbie, who will serve in Pershore, said: “I have learnt so much through Reader training. When I am leading services or preaching sermons or just talking to people I feel much more confident in my ability to share my beliefs and to speak out knowing God is with me.”
