Man airlifted from Vale farm

A MAN was airlifted to hospital today after an accident on a farm near Evesham.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered back and abdominal injuries when he was hit in the back by a piece of farm machinery.

Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were called to the farm at approximately midday.

Paramedic Adam Nash, who attended the incident, said: “The casualty had sustained a suspected fracture to his spine while working in a barn on the farm.

"We administered pain relief to him then immobilised him in order to ensure he stayed still, preventing further damage. We then flew him to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.”
