A FIRE in an empty house in village near Evesham was believed to have started in an airing cupboard.

Crews from Pebworth, Broadway and Pershore attended Blacksmiths Close in South Littleton just after 7.30am on Sunday.

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus searched the property to check there was no one inside.

Having established the house was empty, crews put out the fire on the first floor using two hose reels and a covering jet.
