AN Evesham man has been arrested following a crash in Ashchurch on Sunday that left a cyclist seriously injured.

The accident happened at around 1.30pm on the A46 at Aston Cross in Ashchurch outside the Queens Head pub and involved a silver Range Rover towing a caravan.

The 53-year-old cyclist from Cheltenham suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where he remains in a stable condition.


The 61-year-old man for Evesham was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later released on police bail until November pending further investigation.


Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to officers to ring 101 and quote incident number 244 of August 12.
