A BRIDE is traditionally allowed to arrive about 15 minutes late for her own wedding.

So groom Michael Buggin was taking no chances when he was presented with a tractor to get him to the register office on time to meet his bride Jayne Petch on Saturday.

Father and best man Paul had already worked out the best route and timings from his home in Four Pools Road, Evesham, to Pershore Register Office.

And despite travelling at just 20mph on the Ford 4600 and having to pull over to let bemused drivers pass, the pair made their grand entrance about half an hour early.

Sister Amanda Boulton said: “Michael absolutely loved it. They got so much attention on the roads from people honking their horns and waving at them.”

Paul organised the tractor for his 27-year-old son who had been planning on driving himself and his dad in his car. Jayne arrived at the register office in a more traditional wedding car – a limousine.

The couple, who have a seven-month-old daughter Kassie and Jayne’s son from a previous relationship Joshua Petch, seven, celebrated their reception at Evesham’s Northwick Hotel.
