A MINOR injury unit in Evesham will be open for longer after the hours were initially cut.
The opening hours of the MIU at the community hospital will change from 8am-9pm to 8am- 11pm, beginning this autumn.
The MIU had been open 24 hours a day six months ago, but the hours were cut because there was not the demand for the service. However, that reduction will now be partially reversed.
Hospital matron Sue Lahiff said: “Following successful recruitment we will be extending the MIU’s opening hours in the evening by this autumn. Over the last six months we have gradually phased the 24-7 opening hours down to maximise staffing during peak times.”
