Council opposes a 'crazy' proposal
6:30pm Thursday 6th September 2012 in News
PLANS to build homes on a derelict site in Pershore have been opposed by the town council.
The proposals by Rooftop housing would see 12 new houses and one apartment built on the site of Pershore’s former medical centre in Priest Lane.
There would also be eight car parking spaces on site for the homes and 15 spaces for the Primary Care Trust.
Despite not objecting to development of the site, Councillor Chris Parsons said it was “crazy” for the site to be considered when the number of parking spaces allocated was less than the number of homes being built.
Coun Chris Parsons said: “Both Worcestershire County Council and Wychavon District Council have written policies as to how many car parking spaces there should be for each house.
“The application is totally against this. It seems crazy this should be considered to be approved when it is against policy.”
