Terror as new wall destroyed in smash

CRUNCH: The crash scene.
A PINVIN woman has spoken of her horror after a car ploughed into her garden wall while she was asleep in her house.
Allison Clasen of Appletree Court, Main Street, was awoken when a BMW Z3 crashed into a 50-foot section of wall outside her home at about 11.50pm on Saturday, August 25.
Speaking to the Pershore Journal, she said she had been left shaken by the incident.
“We were woken up by what sounded like a bomb going off,” she said. “When we got downstairs it was just horrific. The car came straight through the wall. It was very frightening. If the wall hadn’t been there it would have been fatal.”
The smash completely destroyed the wall while the force shunted it sideways along the property.
Bricks were catapulted into the air, breaking windows at the side of the house and causing damage to one of the family cars.
The family only moved into the house two years ago and had only just finished a complete refurbishment, including the building of the wall, a couple of months earlier.
“It’s just heartbreaking the damage that’s been done after all the hard work that’s been put in over the last two years,” Mrs Clasen added.
Two men in the car were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital but have since been discharged.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and a police investigation is ongoing.
