MORE than 200 Broadway residents attended a meeting to air their concerns about the South Worcestershire Development Plan.
The consultation period on the changes to the plan ends tomorrow and chairman of the parish council David Foulkes said that it was a good opportunity for councillors and residents to discuss the hot topic.
“We told people we are on their side. We already have our quota of social housing in the village,” he said.
“We object to the proposed sites on Averill Close and off Station Road. The site off Leamington Road is the one that could be a possibility.”
Land behind Averill Close is currently earmarked for up to 80 dwellings and land adjacent to Station Road allocated for 65.
Ron Kemp is part of an action group opposing the work. He said: “The village will become a town with all the extra housing.”
Meanwhile, Sedgeberrow villagers are also protesting against plans for 12 homes off Main Street. Sally Tebbutt said: “The site would create an estate of housing not appropriate for the village.”
