HINDS: Andrew Whittington.
MORE than ten years after bidding farewell to his role as manager at an Evesham jewellers, Andrew Whittington has returned and says this time he plans to stay.
The 50-year-old manager at F Hinds The Jewellers in Bridge Street started with the company in 1990 and worked as a manager in the region for 11 years.
Mr Whittington decided to leave the firm in 2001 and follow a different path at Johnson Cleaners. After a further 11 years at the cleaning company Mr Whittington, who lives in Evesham, returned and says he always missed the jewellery business.
“I aim to stay until retirement this time,” said Mr Whittington.
“I didn’t think they would have me back but a former colleague told me to ask them when the manager left.
When I contacted them they said they would have me back but I had to stay this time. I feel as if I am back where I belong. It feels like home. The customers have been really welcoming and I am enjoying it.”
