PATIENTS at St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester have celebrated the Diamond Jubilee year by creating a special piece of artwork.
More than 40 people made the mosaic tree with the help of artist Victoria Harrison.
The project was funded by Worcestershire County Council ’s Inroads grant for the arts scheme.
It has proved a very popular activity with day hospice patients over the last few months.
Ms Harrison and the hospice’s creative therapist Mary Jenkins came up with the design, which echoed the silver tree of life in the hospice garden.
Other artwork now on display includes an In sickness and in health heart put together by the carers’ group and a mosaic dragonfly by a bereavement group.
Ms Jenkins said: “This has been a highly successful project involving many patients, including some who do not regularly take part in creative therapies. The mosaic process was relaxing and therapeutic.”
