FLOODED... AGAIN: The New Road ground FLOODED... AGAIN: The New Road ground

FLOOD waters have made their way on to Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Water came on to the cricket ground overnight and by Wednesday morning had flooded the marquee and is making its way across the Basil D'Oliveira stand.

Fortunately, no games have had to be cancelled as the club played their last home fixture on Thursday, September 6.

Officials at Worcester Racecourse will carry out an inspection at 8am on Thursday to determine whether Friday's race will go ahead.

David Throup, area environment manager for the Environment Agency, said they expected Worcester to peak on Thursday evening.

On Wednesday morning, the Worcester gauge was reading 4 metres and is expected to rise a further 30 to 60cm.

He said that Upton-upon-Severn would rise another 20cm before it peaks on Thursday evening.
