Poppy appeal launched

PLANS for this year’s National Poppy Appeal are off to a great start in Pershore.

The Royal British Legion and Pershore Naval Association have formed a new committee and organised a host of fundraising activities.

The run of events kicks off on Saturday, October 6, with a quiz night at Pershore Naval Social Club. The night starts at 8pm and costs £2 with a buffet supper.

On Saturday, October 20, the Royal British Legion will be putting on its own version of Last Night at the Proms at Number 8 in Pershore.

Tickets for the event will be £14 each and are available from the High Street theatre.

Remembrance will take place on Friday, November 9, at 11am at the War Graves and Cross of Sacrifice in Pershore Cemetery.

The traditional Service of Remembrance will be held in Pershore Abbey, along with the Grand Parade through the town, on Sunday, November 11.
