MEDIAEVAL fun and frolics have helped swell the coffers of two Evesham charities.
A Monk’s Supper was held in All Saints Church to raise funds for the Mayor of
Evesham’s charities – Wallace House Community Centre and Evesham Volunteers.
More than 160 people, including 34 Americans visiting Evesham on a twinning visit from the town’s namesake in New Jersey, helped to make it Mayor
Robert Raphael’s biggest fundraising event of the year so far, raising £1,791. Entertainment came from period readings and poetry from Evesham historians
David Snowden, Mike Edwards and Tony Whiting, and guests even witnessed the ghost of Simon de Montfort walking through the church.
Avonbank Brass Band provided music.
