Pet shop’s big charity push
11:00am Saturday 6th October 2012 in News
AN Evesham pet shop will be raising funds for local animal rescues throughout October as part of a national drive.
Pets at Home on the Four Pools Retail Park is running activities to raise awareness and funds for animal charities.
The fund-raising drive is an initiative run by Support Adoption For Pets, a charity established by the chain.
Store manager Scott Sangster said: “Our nationwide fund-raising drives have become a permanent fixture in our calendar as they give us the chance to increase awareness of pet adoption and raise money for local animal rescues at the same time.
“Our last fund-raising campaign raised £137,000. However, this is the first time we’ve run the initiative for an entire month so we’re hoping to beat that amount this time. We’ll be holding a number of activities for customers to take part in and we have some great prizes.”
Raffle tickets will be on sale for £1 at all stores, with prizes including £1,000 worth of Thomson Holiday vouchers, an iPad 3, a 40in 3D TV, a Kindle Touch, free pet food for a year and £100 worth of Love2shop vouchers.
