Woman breaks leg in bike crash
A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after coming off her motorcycle in Evesham yesterday.
The incident happened near to a petrol station on Cheltenham Road in Ashton Under Hill at around 1.40pm. A senior paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The 999 call initially reported that there had been a collision between three motorcycles and a car, but on arrival crews found one motorcyclist, a woman in her 50s, who had come off her bike and had been injured.
“The woman was out riding with fellow bikers when she reportedly came off her motorcycle which then subsequently landed on top of her leg.
“She had sustained a fractured leg and was given pain relief by crews to help stabilise her condition. The woman’s leg was then immobilised using a splint before she was transferred to the awaiting helicopter and air airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.”
