Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured after colliding with a car.

The main A46 road at Ashton under Hill, near Evesham, has been closed in both directions and police are diverting traffic following the incident, which occurred at about 9.45am.

A police spokesman said the driver of the car was unharmed but the motorcyclist had been “seriously injured”.

He said the road would remain closed “for some time”.

 

UPDATE: 1.05pm:

The road remains closed and traffic is being diverted in both directions, causing delays of about 15 minutes.

Police and highways officers remain on scene and it is not yet known when the road will re-open.

 

UPDATE: 2.30pm:

The road has now been re-opened.
