Thank you for a summer to remember
THIS summer’s sporting stars from the Vale and Cotswolds have been honoured at a reception. Olympic gold-medal winning rower Alex Gregory – second from the right at the front – and wheelchair sprinter Mel Nicholls – front left – were both invited to the Star College near Cheltenham where they were presented with a commemorative bowl. Former Evesham Rowing Club member Alex won a gold in the coxless fours at the London Olympics and Winchcombe Abbey School teaching assistant Mel competed in the T34 category 100m and 200m Paralympic events.
