Help stand up to cancer this weekend

SHOPPERS are being asked to ‘shop and drop’ by a supermarket giant all to help in the fight against cancer.

The Tesco store at Worcester Road in Evesham is taking part in the Stand Up To Cancer campaign, urging people to drop unwanted clothing and accessories in bags at selected stores on Saturday October 20 and Sunday, October 21.

The donated items will then be sold at Cancer Research UK (CRUK) stores nationwide, to raise cash for the cause.

Jane Redman, of CRUK Worcestershire, said: “We are asking everyone to check out their wardrobes and sort out anything that no longer fits or they have fallen out of love with.

“They could also bag up any books, games, DVDs, shoes and accessories they no longer have space for.

“Donations don’t need to be Jimmy Choos or designer dresses - just good quality shoes, clothes or other goods that someone else will find useful.”

Donor customers will get a £5 voucher to redeem against £20 of Tesco clothing.

Two other stores in Worcestershire are involved - the Castle Road store at Kidderminster and the Redditch Extra store in Oakenshaw.
