WHEN you’ve trained as a veterinary nurse, organised themed parties in a Spanish bar called Foreplay, been a nail technician, sold mobile phones and done a course in event and wedding planning, you’ve covered a fair few business bases.

But now 30-years-old single mother Sarah Woulfe, from Holt Heath, near Worcester, is setting out on yet another career journey.

On Saturday, she is organising her first UK party night at The Lenchford Hotel, Shrawley, between Worces-ter and Stourport on Severn.

Called The Red Carpet Event, it will start at 7.30pm and aims to bring a bit of Hollywood glitz to this quiet corner of Worcestershire.

“When I got back from Spain I realised how much I missed my job there,” Ms Woulfe said.

“So, as easy as it would be to live a life on benefits and hand outs, it really isn’t my thing. So I decided I would look into organizing parties and events of my own and used any excuse I could to throw a party – Halloween, Christmas, New Year, although my 30th was the biggest of them all.”

Now she is using her experience to stage a Hollywood style party as the first step in her new business venture.

There will be music from rocker covers band Retro-flector and loads of fun things happening, plus prizes for the best dressed male and female and couple. Entrance Is £5.

“If I can do it any single mother in Worcester can try and start their own business with help from government schemes and work shops,” she said.

“I think this story should give hope to the younger generation who may think they have only a lifetime of government benefit claiming to look forward to.”
