THE Worcestershire company Puddle Ducks, the learn to swim franchise for children, is continuing to grow, looking to increase their team by recruiting new teachers.

The firm, which has its central offices in St Mary's Street, is prepared for it busiest time of the year which is traditionally the summer, when parents are keen for children to gain confidence in the water, whether that is in a pool or the sea.

The Worcestershire franchise started teaching swimming in January 2011, emerging from the national firm that was founded in 2001. It now operates at nine pools throughout the region, which has led to the decision to recruit more staff.

The company put all their teachers through a training programme, as well as the necessary swimming teachers association (STA) qualifications.

Puddle Ducks are the largest swim school partner of the STA, bringing its fun classes to many parents and their little ones.

Class sizes are purposely limited so that teacher can give everyone their best attention.

Kate Attwood, the county business owner, said: “It’s great to be growing and developing the business, both from a personal and a business perspective.

"We love supporting parents in Worcestershire as they get their children swimming and taking on new staff is also helping the local economy.

"We moved to new offices in central Worcester last year and this has allowed us to expand and develop our team as well as play a greater part in the thriving Worcester business community.

"Throughout our current growth the high quality of teaching remains our main focus.

"Although fun is at the heart of our classes, they’re about much more than this. Run by our award winning teachers the classes revolve around bonding and play, the children often don’t even realise they’re learning to swim and are acquiring a skill that could save their lives."
