WORCESTER-based property agents Harris Lamb has been given the green light by planners to build a new office for city housing association Fortis Living.

Having successfully won a tender to identify a site for a new office the business secured space beside the organisation’s existing premises, and put forward proposals to the city council planning team.

Simon Hawley, of Harris Lamb’s planning consultancy, said: “We’re extremely pleased with how smoothly this instruction has progressed.

"Further to winning the tender, we were able to secure a site off Midlands Road in Worcester, beside Progress House, Fortis’ existing base.

“The intention is that once the new building is complete, both offices will be used together as the organisation’s new headquarters.

“An application was approved by the council’s planning committee for a 15,000 sq ft office, along with a further planning 15,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace that will be put to the market.

"The application was well received by members and we’re delighted to be able to drive forward with the plans,” he said.

Harris Lamb’s building team has been instructed to oversee the construction, which is expected to commence sometime next year.
