A FAMILIAR voice will be appearing at the charity event Strictly Worcestershire.

Television voiceover man Alan Dedicoat - the voice of Strictly Come Dancing and The National Lottery draws will be the announcer at the charity dance contest being held at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich, on Thursday, May 24.

Mr Dedicoat, from Hollywood, will be appearing live at the event which will be raising money for St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester and the £1 million Rory the Robot Appeal.

At the event seven contestant couples from the county’s business community will aim to lift the prized glitterball trophy in front of a 750-strong corporate audience.

The judging panel will comprise former trade minister and business ambassador Lord Digby Jones, veteran broadcaster Bob Warman, dancer Katie Love and choreographer Jennifer Bennett Price. Hosting the event is BBC Hereford and Worcester breakfast show presenter Elliott Webb.

Strictly Worcestershire co-producer Granville Orange said: “Last year’s event raised a record £37,000 and we’re looking forward to another memorable evening at an iconic venue accompanied by the distinctive tones of Mr Dedicoat.”
