CLUER HR celebrated five years in business with a birthday party at its office in Overbury, near Bredon.

" The prosecco – with elderflower cordial for drivers – flowed and canapes were plentiful, said founder Kirsten Cluer. "It is doubtful whether much HR was discussed, but the networking was enjoyed by all."

Miss Cluer started the business from her home in Pershore in 2011. At that point it was just her, providing HR advice and support to small and medium sized business in the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire area. Three office "up-sizes" and several recruitment projects later, Cluer HR has grown to become a team of multiple HR advisers offering outsourced HR advice and support to a wider geographical base. The firm now has a broad reaching industry type in its client base, including garden centres, schools, manufacturing companies, engineering businesses, hairdressers, care homes, packaging companies, logistic firms and quantity surveyors.

Miss Cluer added: "We are often asked whether we work with businesses in any specific industries, but I always say, I never set out to be industry specific. From my experience, the challenges and issues associated with managing people and promoting an engaged workforce are very rarely industry specific. People are people at the end of the day. Instead we focus on a client base to whom we can commute with ease. While a lot of advice and support can be given over the phone and by email, there are times when only a good old fashioned face to face meeting will do.”
