A WORCESTER firm has relocated its distribution warehouse to new county premise.

Amco Services Limited, the Worcester-based freight management, logistics and warehousing company, has relocated its warehouse from Blackpole Trading Estate to Ravensbank Business Park in Redditch.

Amco Services’ distribution warehouse has been based on the city trading estate for more than 12 years, but is expanding to the company’s purpose-built 110,000 square foot regional distribution depot at Ravensbank Business Park, which opened two years ago as part of an exercise to rationalise its entire distribution operation within Worcestershire.

The company’s headquarters will be retained in Worcester.

Paul Andrews, chief executive of Amco, said: “We are delighted to now be able to concentrate our distribution operation in the heart of the Midlands, and with our brand new 110,000 sq ft customs bonded Amco Park facility and our 72,000 sq ft regional distribution centre next door, we are well placed to service the warehouse, distribution and logistics needs of local, national and international business from one central point.”

Acting on behalf of Amco, city-based property consultants Bruton Knowles have re-let 16A Blackpole Trading Estate to Worcester-based 8D Closures Ltd.

The company, which was established in 2000 to design closure systems, such as latches and handles, for the automotive industry, has agreed a lease on the 25,300 sq ft unit.

Lance Turner, associate at Bruton Knowles Worcester office, said: “We received strong interest in the building due to its prominence within one mile of J6 of the M5, with the added advantage that the building benefits from a large yard and dock and level access doors.

"Due to the strong level of demand, the building was let close to the quoting rent of £135,000 per annum.”
