A WORCESTERSHIRE company has announced the charity which is to benefit from a year of fundraising.

Bromsgrove-based Penguin Office Supplies, the office and business supplier, has announced it will be supporting social enterprise charity NewStarts through the fundraising activities planned this year.

Chris Hopkinson, director of Penguin Office Supplies, said: “As a charity, NewStarts rely solely on gifts of money and goods donated from others to help meet the needs of local people.

"I’m very passionate about giving back to my local community and supporting those in need.

“Last year I participated in the Timberhonger 10k in Bromsgrove and abseiled down the Hampton by Hilton Hotel on Broad Street, Birmingham, the proceeds of which went to charity.

"This year we’re planning even more strenuous and challenging fundraising activities with the aim of raising much needed funds to support NewStarts and their tremendous outreach projects.

The money raised will go to the charity, which is also based in Bromsgrove, and its work supporting local families and individuals to overcome the challenges and disadvantages that shape their lives.

Besides reusing and finding new homes for unwanted household items, NewStarts provide free furniture, emergency food and household supplies to those who need rehoming and who are either on low incomes or find themselves in financial crisis.
