A BUSINESS is set to expand into Evesham.

Squab Group, a storage, removals and van hire company, will take up a new unit at Asparagus Point, Vale Park, creating five new jobs.

The company has acquired a 15,000 sq ft freehold unit at Vale Park from landlord Hortons’ Estate. Hortons is constructing the unit on behalf of Squab and it is scheduled for completion in December.

The family-owned property company is also speculatively building a further 39,450 sq ft of space, comprising eight smaller units ranging in size from 3,500 sq ft – 6,000 sq ft, at Asparagus Point after it was granted planning permission by Wychavon District Council in April.

Emlyn Evans from Squab said: “Evesham is an exciting place to be setting up our new branch and Asparagus Point is situated on a well-established industrial park with good transport links to other parts of the region.”

Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, added: “Squab is a successful family–run business that is continuing to expand its footprint across the Midlands. For a business like Squab, which relies on having easy access to local transport networks, Asparagus Point couldn’t be better positioned."
