ON Tuesday June 27 we made a visit to a members garden in Ebrington. The garden had matured beautifully since our last visit with an abundance of plants and colour. The evening concluded with refreshments. Members made a donation towards a Charity nominated by the owners, namely, Ebrington School PTFA. A highly successful social occasion—very well attended by members!! The weather held off!!Many thanks to the ‘owners’ for opening their garden.

Ebrington Village Fete Saturday July 8, We had a ‘Gardening club stall’ and sold lots of plants and ‘garden bric-a-brac’. A very successful day-many thanks to everyone for their support.

On Tuesday, July 11 we made an evening visit to Harrell’s Hardy Plant Nursery in Evesham.

We received a really warm welcome which helped to us to forget about the weather! .It is a small nursery growing mainly perennials, on a small scale. However the plants they sell are not small as they don't send out our plants as plugs, most are in 11cm pots, some bigger and rarely, some smaller in 9cm pots. Their plant list isn't the whole story as they have other plants, some they are building up stocks of, others stock plants either in the nursery garden or in pots. There are others that have been added throughout the year, this is especially true of their hemerocallis range. Harrell’s plants will grow in ordinary garden soils in sun/part shade and most can be seen growing in the nursery garden.

The evening concluded with tea/coffee and some wonderful cakes!

Our next event is our Annual Flower and Vegetable Show on Saturday August 12 commencing at 2pm and is to be held at the Washbrook Barn, Ebrington, GL55 6NW. There will be over100 classes including vegetables, flowers, fruit, flower arranging, children’s classes, cookery, wine, photography, craft work, and poultry. Tea /coffee and cake available—presentation of prizes at 4pm.
