THERE was not a meeting in December due to the weather so the January meeting was the Christmas meeting with free entry and the usual mince pies, sherry and the grand raffle of 17 prizes. The speakers were Helen and Stephen Wilkes with a talk entitled Unusual Accommodation in Remarkable Places. They entertained us with their memories of 17 years of travel with the aid of slides. They took us to many remote areas including Bolivia, Africa, Japan. Mongolia, and Siberia, as far as New Zealand and many other places describing the accommodation in detail. They intend to continue their visits to unusual places. The £64 from the tombola in 2017 will be donated to Silver Line. The coffee mornings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at No 8 and are proving popular. The meeting ended with the Grand Christmas raffle of 17 excellent prizes The next meeting will be on February 28, the speaker will be Ray Aspden entitled 100 years of British Comic Papers. The meetings are held at the Peopleton Village Hall, 10.30am for 11am on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Visitors and new members are very welcome please ring Pauline on 01905 458 458
