We enjoyed taking part in the LoveEvesham event on April 14. Many people did not know Evesham & District Pensioners' Association has been in existence for almost 25 years now. So, we were pleased to tell them what we do. We have monthly meetings, including talks on various subjects, social afternoons and we arrange coach trips, as well as running exercise classes. We have volunteer knitters who make knee blankets, twiddle muffs, hats, gloves, scarves and children's items for local charities. Our Forum meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Town Hall at 1.30pm.

On April 24 we had a very interesting and informative talk by John Oakes, the Divisional Secretary of the Wychavon branch of SSAFA, the oldest national military charity. John talked about the many ways in which veterans, ex-service personnel and their families can be helped, including with housing, financial matters, mobility aids, education and mental health issues, etc. Trained volunteers help to run SSAFA but there are trained case workers to assess what people need and assistance can be given to apply for help. The number to ring for initial help and advice is 01905 21728.
