AT OUR last meeting Lynda Warren returned to give us the second instalment of her talk "A Funny Way to make a Living". This involved her and her husband obtaining and making props for various films and adverts and the way some of these were obtained and made was very funny.

On Wednesday we spent the day in London. After passing by some of the main sights we arrived at the Strand Palace Hotel where we had a very nice lunch. We then went to the Houses of Parliament where we were given an extremely informative tour of the building giving us the history of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. This is a wonderful building and well worth a visit. After the tour we spent some free time on the embankment before leaving London about 5pm. The weather was lovely and the day was very enjoyable. Thanks must be given to the organisers and to our driver, Darren.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 12 at 2 for 2.30pm at our new venue, the WI Hall in New Road, Moreton. If you are interested in joining our Club, please come along to the meeting where you will soon make new friends.
