THE June Meeting held at Peopleton Village Hall was the AGM and started with free tea and biscuits. The Chairman opened the meeting with one of his ticklers. The members holding office gave their report and were warmly thanked for their work in the last year. He emphasised the point that he had been Chairman now for 15 years and although he had enjoyed it, for the Centre to succeed we need new people to come forward . There was no election of new officers as no members put their name forward, the existing committee was elected en bloc by a show of hands. As there was no speaker Brenda had organised a quiz which was very much enjoyed. The boat trip on the Thames in June was an enjoyable day and so well organised by Phil . The tea was lovely and beautifully laid out and of course the gorgeous weather made it just perfect. We are so lucky to have members willing to organise these things as they take up lot of time and effort. The next meeting will be on July 26 at Peopleton Village Hall the speaker will be Mr Rob Hemming on (The History of the Regal Cinema). Visitors and new members are welcome for information ring Pauline on 01905 458 458.
