FROM Aberdeen in Scotland to St Helier in Jersey Pebworth in Bloom is one of 78 finalists vying to win a gold award in this year’s RHS national Britain in Bloom competition.

On Wed 2nd August the village will be visited by the RHS judges who will be taken for a tour of Pebworth, taking in areas like the allotments, the beautiful churchyard and the well-tended residents’ gardens. It is hoped that Pebworth will be judged to be one of the cleanest, greenest and most beautiful places in the UK.

Yvonne Rose, chair of Pebworth in Bloom said “ All the volunteers have been working incredibly hard to prepare for the judges arrival. We have been busy litter-picking, weeding and especially watering. Gutters have been cleared and street signs washed and the whole village is looking pristine and full of colour. A resident, praising the work of Pebworth in Bloom likened living in Pebworth as living a beautiful garden”.

It is the first time that Pebworth has got through to the national finals and everyone is very excited and looking forward to welcoming local dignitaries, councillors and villagers to Pebworth Village Hall on August 2.
