THE annual meeting of the branch was held on Tuesday, October 1, at Wulstan Hall.

County chairman June Wildman was in attendance, also vice chairman Stephanie Elphick.

Branch officers and committee for the coming year would remain the same with the addition of Pamela Hucklebury appointed to assist the Hon Treasurer.

Pat Burton would retire from committee.

Ivy Reid will remain as President, and Glenda McKeown as standard bearer.

The programme sub committee is Barbara Shalders, Doreen Dale and Maggie Brown.

Chairman Stephanie thanked all members for their support and highlighted the fashion show and stall at Pershore Plum Fayre which exceeded all records when 300lbs of plums were sold as well as jam and the Open the Box game. £700 had been donated to the Poppy Appeal.

Fund-raising for 2013/14 was now planned and details given to members of the coffee morning on November 2 at Pershore Town Hall from l0am to noon. A fashion show by Bon Marche at Abbey Park School on Wednesday, November 20, from 7.30pm tickets £2.50.

County conference on November 16 at County Hall, Worcester, and a trip to the Hop Pocket on Tuesday, November 26.

The Christmas party to be held on December 3 with the Salvation Army in attendance.

Finally the Group II meeting at Badsey on Wednesday, December 18.

Following the closure of the meeting the branch celebrated the 90th birthday of member Joan Lloyd who had been a standard bearer escort for many years.

Members enjoyed a birthday cake, given by her daughter, and wine supplied by the president. County chairman June presented Joan with a bouquet of flowers.

New members are very welcome to our branch which meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at Wulstan Hall.
