OUR June meeting was an evening visit to Nafford House, Eckington, where after the threat of heavy rain passed us by and the night remained dry. Our hosts, John and Jane, gave us free reign to explore their two acre garden where well stocked borders were a riot of colour and beautifully maintained. Despite the recent dry spell the plants looked vibrant and well suited to their surroundings. Well laden apple trees were a feature, together with many mature indigenous trees and the extensive lawns lead down to the river Avon, an idyllic spot to while away one's time. Our hosts provided a delicious buffet supper accompanied by a glass of Pimms, which was much appreciated by all our members.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, when a further garden visit is planned to 1, Church Cottage, Defford. We meet at 7pm at the venue. We look forward to seeing all.
