COUNTY trading standards officers have reminded catering establishments to be mindful of people's allergies when preparing food.
The department of Worcestershire County Council has recently come across instances of customers having an adverse reaction after coming into contact with undisclosed ingredients.
Because of the issue, trading standards have now produced an information booklet to hand out to caterers across the county. The food allergy advice pack is designed to minimise accidental contamination and enable businesses to deal effectively with people who have allergies.
Bryony Fulcher, trading standards officer said: "This pack should provide small businesses with a useful summary of the law concerning allergenic ingredients and provide them with the information necessary for them to steer clear of potential problems."
Businesses which have not received a pack but would like one, should contact trading standards business advice line on 0845 330 3313.
