TWO Vale firefighters are gearing up to be put through their paces when they compete against colleagues from across the globe in the World Firefighter Games.
Crew manager Adrian Mayhew, of Evesham Fire Station, and Anthony Wilson, aged 27 from Pershore station, will take part in the triathlon during the games, which are being staged in Liverpool from August 24 - September 3.
The event includes undertaking a 400 metre freestyle swim and a 3.2 kilometre open water swim.

The pair are currently training hard for the event.
Adrian, aged 36, said: "We are both looking forward to it. We wanted to enter it to support our country seen as the event is in the UK this year."
Adrian is gradually getting back in shape following a year off from training due to back problems.
He added: "I am getting back into it and Anthony is training like a man possessed.He has got a good chance because he is naturally talented."
